Petition For Dépanalisation of press offenses

Comité National pour la Liberté de la Presse (CNLP) : Appel à la dépénalisation du délit de presse

Dans le sillage de l’Etat d’urgence, Algerian power has strengthened in 2001 through the amendment to the Penal Code, the enforcement against the press and journalists.

The Corporation of the press had risen since cons Articles 144 and 144a of the Criminal Code penalizing press offenses, including imprisonment of up to 5 years Farms . Unanimous demand of the corporation but also to all the Democrats and Republicans, the decriminalization of press is now, more than ever acute. As well as the development urgent and concerted professional status for journalists. Faithful to the struggle led by their elders in the wake of the uprising of October 1988 for the freedoms of press and expression but also faithful to the extreme sacrifices paid by others for that great democratic ideals, journalists call for Algerians immediate and unconditional decriminalization of press offenses. They also call for lifting the state monopoly on broadcast media.
